WEATHER
February is one of the most beautiful and comfortable times to experience Death Valley National Park.
The desert comes alive with soft winter light, wide-open silence, and dramatic landscapes that feel almost otherworldly — perfect for exploration without the extreme heat.
🌞 Daytime temperatures usually range between 60–75°F (16–24°C), ideal for hiking, scenic drives, salt flats, sand dunes, and canyon walks.
🌙 Evenings and early mornings are cooler, often dropping to 40–50°F (4–10°C), so light layers, a warm jacket, and comfortable shoes are recommended.
✨ February often brings clear skies and crisp air, making it a wonderful time for sunrise views, golden-hour photography, and quiet stargazing far from city lights.
We’ll be exploring one of the most powerful landscapes in the U.S. —
expect vast horizons, surreal scenery, slow mornings, and that deep desert stillness that resets your nervous system and stays with you long after the trip ends. 🏜️✨
CLOTHES
What to Wear & Pack
Layered Clothing
Temperatures shift throughout the day, so bring easy layers — light and breathable for daytime, warmer for mornings and evenings.
Warm Jacket or Fleece
Nights and early mornings can be chilly, especially in higher elevations. A cozy outer layer is essential.
Lightweight Waterproof Jacket or Poncho
Rain is rare, but a light waterproof layer is useful just in case and great for wind protection.
Comfortable Walking Shoes / Hiking Boots
We’ll be exploring a lot — from scenic viewpoints to desert trails. Choose sturdy, well-broken-in shoes.
Hat & Sunglasses
The desert sun can be strong, even in winter. A wide-brim hat and good sunglasses are a must.
Breathable Daytime Clothing
Lightweight fabrics like cotton or quick-dry materials work best for warm afternoons.
Comfortable Pants
Leggings or hiking pants are perfect for both sightseeing and active days.
Casual Everyday Wear
Bring relaxed tops, t-shirts, and easy outfits for laid-back exploring and downtime.
